Class: A Beginners Class  on Pressed Flowers

Participants will explore the varieties of ways to make handmade pressed flowers Cards and Bookmarks.

Demonstration:  French Matting

Cost of the handouts: $2.00

Cost of demo for non-members $6.00

Pat will give a demo on how to create decorative mats using a method called French Matting.


This technique is simple and can help to coordinate the mat with your artwork and add a finishing touch to the framed piece.  A handout with full instructions will be available.

Class: Pressed Flower Art Picture Background

Class Fee for Non-members: $10.00

This class covers some simple but effective ways to create backgrounds for pressed flower art. Methods covered are soft pastel methods (dry wash, direct painting, blending) and watercolor methods (sponge, splash. Other methods will be on display including paper collage, dyed hand made paper, and fabric.  Everyone bring scratch paper and an old toothbrush.

Class: Beaded Pressed Flower Photo/Place Card Holder

Class Cost for Non Members: $12.00

Using wire, pressed flowers and beads participants will create a delightful holder for photos, recipe cards and everyday notes.  Participants will need to bring small scissors and tweezers for the class.

Demonstration:  Pressing Difficult Flowers

Pat will demonstrate techniques for pressing difficult flowers, like roses, peonies, sunflowers, orchids, etc. Handouts will include step-by-step instructions with color photos.

Demonstration: Mixed Media Container (Made with dimensional paints and papers)

The demo will cover making pots, urns, vases and other containers by utilizing basic simple shapes with dimensional parts, ribbon, paper and pressed foliage.

Class: How to Design  Simple  Human and Animal Figures with Pressed Flowers

An introduction to the design of simple Human and Animal Figures with petals and leaves. Participants  will practice the design of cats, chickens, etc. by following  the facilitators’ instructions.

A demonstration on how the two parts of resin are mixed and applied.

Demonstration: Creating an English Cottage Garden Picture

Participants will follow  step by step instructions on how to create a flower garden with trellis, walkway, picket fences and embellishments like adding water can, directional sign, birdbath and basket.

Class: Basic Pressed Flower Art Design

This class explains the different types of design (abstract and realism) with focus of basic abstract design patterns. It gives examples of each pattern and focus on one pattern. The class will cover basic design principles and basic color theory. Students will work on one project with the pattern of their own choice. Frame and mat optional.  Students will do  an  8x10  project.

Class: Framing Verses and Wedding Invitations with Pressed Flowers

Cost of the demo for Non members:  $6.00

In this  class, following Pat's instructions, you will add pressed flowers to a verse and mat (supplied). She will also demonstrate different ways to frame an invitation with pressed flowers.  Handouts will include a variety of styles for your future use.

Basic Matting and Framing Demonstration

This Basic Framing demonstration is designed to give you an overview of the tools, materials and procedures used in framing your own Pressed Flower Artwork, and cutting a basic mat.
