General Guidelines that apply to ALL competition categories:
(Further
specific guidelines that apply to each individual category are listed
with the category description.)
Deadline for receiving artwork is June 7, 2006.
- You may enter only one submission per
category.
- All entries must be done by an individual
(single person).
- All entries must be original and not
submitted to any previous competitions.
- Pictures must be framed. Frame size may
not exceed 16"x20".
- Your name, address, and category number
must appear on the back of the picture.
- All entries must have wired hanging
aperture (no saw tooth or other small hanging apertures allowed).
- You need to include $1 for each picture 5 X
7 inches or smaller, and $2 for each picture larger than 5x7 inches.
- You need to add return postage to your cost
when mailing in your artworks.
- You do not have to pay
the conference registration fee if you are only mailing in entries for
competition but do not attend the conference in person.
- All pictures over 8X10
must use acrylic instead of glass.

Not permitted:

No signature, personal stamp,
or identifying marking on the front of the picture.

No digital output, cutout images, or stamped images may be included.
All
submissions must include filled-out registration form and required return
postage and fees.

Saturday 6/10/2006 5PM.

Category #1 "My Favorite Season"
Create an
arrangement that depicts a season.
Only pressed plant material (flowers, foliage, fruits, and vegetables)
may be used.
This category is open only for those who have not
won a first place award in any pressed flower competition.
Not
permitted:
- Artificial coloring or
enhancement of the pressed material.
- 3-dimension materials of
any kind such as seeds, small twigs and branches or any plant material
that is not pressed flat.
- Drawing and/or painting
of the background.
- If matting is used, it
must function only as matting and not as part of the picture design.
Category #2
"Flower Shop"
Create a picture that depicts a flower shop store front.
The majority of the picture must be comprised of pressed plant
material. Watercolor, pastel, acrylic,
oil, or paper collage is allowed on the background.
Not permitted:
- Artificial coloring or enhancement of the
pressed material.
- 3-dimension materials of any kind such as
seeds, small twigs and branches or any plant material that is not
pressed flat.
- If matting is used, it must function only
as matting and not as part of the picture design.
Category #3 "My
Favorite Place"
Create a picture that illustrates the scene of your favorite place.
Only pressed plant material (flowers, foliage, fruits, and vegetables)
may be used.
Not
permitted:
-
Artificial coloring or enhancement of the pressed material.

kind such as seeds, small twigs and branches or any plant material that
is not pressed flat.

The
World Wide Pressed Flower Guild would like to have your permission for
including your artwork image into our 2007 Calendar.
If you
are interested to have your entry included, please
to print out the copyright permission form. You
need to fill this form out for each of your entries and sign the forms.
All signed forms are to be sent together with your
entries. A high resolution image (300dpi) of your entry saved on a CD
would be greatly appreciated together with your entry for the best
presentation of your artwork.
