WWPFG 2010 Conference Instructor Biography

Eugenia Ivanova

I was born in Russia, Samara (then it was called Kuibyshev) where I live now. In 1992, I finished higher education in Kuibyshev's aviation institute with the specialization of programmer but I could not find any good jobs after these studies. At this time, Russia was undergoing perestroika  economic reforms) and many people lost their qualified work because enterprises were shutting down.

I could sew well and for few years I worked as a tailor. Then I got married and had a daughter, and then later on a son. Now I care for my family all the time. I am fond of pressed floral art (Oshibana) since 2006. My art differs from classical Oshibana which strives to save the natural forms of plants. I prefer a technique closer to painting; plants are used as paint for the creation of a picture.

I am a member of the WWPFG since December, 2007.
