WWPFG 2010 Conference Instructor Biography

Liwen Chen

The beauty of the pressed flower overwhelmed me since the very first encounter with it. I plunged right into the world of pressed flowers and left behind years work on the art of flower arrangement.

Twenty years have gone by since. Watching swinging grasses in the wind, seeing the world through a grain of sand and heaven in wild flowers, I have rested my heart and soul in the world of pressed flower.

As a certified instructor of the Japan’s Fascinating Flower Club, I have started a studio to teach classes since 1994, entered numerous exhibitions and won awards including a first place blue ribbon from the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society in 2007.

1)    1990  Started career of pressed  flower

2)    1994  Established LiWen Chen pressed flower studio

3)    1995  Obtained Japan’s 岳澄流押花 lecturer qualification

4)    2000  Obtained Japan’s Fascinating Flower Club lecturer qualification

5)    1996-2009  Participated and held several exhibitions of pressed  flower

6)    2007  Awarded with first prize of pressed flower competition by The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society

7)    2008  Awarded with masterpiece prize of pressed flower competition by The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.

8)    2008  Awarded with masterpiece prize of pressed flower competition by The World Wild Pressed Flower Guild
