Deadline for receiving artwork is October 27, 2010.

1. You may enter only one submission per category.
2. All entries must be done by an individual (single person).
3. All entries must be original and not submitted to any previous competitions.
4. Pictures must be framed unless specified by the category.  Frame size may not exceed 16"x20".
5. Your name, address, and category number must appear on the back of the picture.
6. All entries must have wired hanging aperture (no saw tooth or other small hanging apertures allowed).
7. You need to file competition application and include $5 for each picture submitted.
8. You need to add return postage to your cost when mailing in your artworks.
9. All pictures over 8X10 must use acrylic instead of glass.
10. You grant the World Wide Pressed Flower Guild rights to publish image of your artwork on website and other mediums for non-profit educational purpose.

    Not permitted:

11. No signature, personal stamp, or identifying marking on the front of the picture.
12. No digital output, cutout images, or stamped images may be included.

All submissions must include filled-out application form and required return postage and fees.

Framing Service Option:

To help reducing cost of mailing framed art, the hosting organization (South China Agricultural University) offers framing service. They will frame your work for you to enter competition for $15.00. At the end of the competition, if you would want your picture send back with the frame, cost of mailing back is $__. If you want only picture back, cost of mailing back is $__.

Entry removal time is Monday 10/31/2010 5:30PM.

Although the World Wide Pressed Flower Guild will exercise due caution in
safeguarding competition  and exhibit pieces, the Guild or its members cannot assume
responsibility for injury, damage, or loss.  Valuables used in the competition and
exhibits should be insured by each individual.

Category #1  "A Beautiful Arrangement"

Create a floral arrangement picture using pressed flowers.

Only pressed plant material (flowers, foliage, fruits, and vegetables) may be used. You may laminate the picture and submit the entry without frame.

This category is open only for those who have not won a first place award in any WWPFG pressed flower competition.

Not permitted:

• Artificial coloring or enhancement of the pressed material.
• 3-dimension materials of any kind such as seeds, small twigs and branches or any plant material that is not pressed flat.
• Drawing and/or painting of the background.
• If matting is used, it must function only as matting and not as part of the picture design.

Category #2  "Beauty of the Nature"

Create a botanical picture using one or a few plant materials.

Only pressed plant material (flowers, foliage, fruits, and vegetables) may be used. You may laminate the picture and submit the entry without frame.

Not permitted:

• Artificial coloring or enhancement of the pressed material.
• 3-dimension materials of any kind such as seeds, small twigs and branches or any plant material that is not pressed flat.
• Drawing and/or painting of the background.
• If matting is used, it must function only as matting and not as part of the picture design.
• lamination or any type of coating on the plant material surface.

Category #3  "A Beautiful Place"

Create a landscape picture.

The majority of the picture must be comprised of pressed plant material.  Watercolor, pastel, acrylic, or
oil is allowed on the background.

Not permitted:

• Artificial coloring or enhancement of the pressed material.
• 3-dimension materials of any kind such as seeds, small twigs and branches or any plant material that is not pressed flat.
• If matting is used, it must function only as matting and not as part of the picture design.
• lamination or any type of coating on the plant material surface.

Category #4  "A Beautiful Garden"
 

Create a garden scene.

Only pressed plant material (flowers, foliage, fruits, and vegetables) may be used.

Not permitted: 

• Artificial coloring or enhancement of the pressed material.
• 3-dimension materials of any kind such as seeds, small twigs and branches or any plant material that is not pressed flat.
• Drawing and/or painting of the background.
• If matting is used, it must function only as matting and not as part of the picture design.
• lamination or any type of coating on the plant material surface.

Category #5  "My Beautiful Gift"

Create a pressed flower art picture with your imagination.

Only pressed plant material (flowers, foliage, fruits, and vegetables) may be used. You may laminate the picture and submit the entry without frame.

This category is open only for those who are 18 or younger. Need to clearly indicate the age in the back of the picture.

Not permitted:

• Artificial coloring or enhancement of the pressed material.
• 3-dimension materials of any kind such as seeds, small twigs and branches or any plant material that is not pressed flat.
• Drawing and/or painting of the background.
• If matting is used, it must function only as matting and not as part of the picture design.
