The easiest way is to take bus:

Select Guangzhou City to see schedule.

You get off Jinan University stop. Then take a taxi. It should be pretty close.

Another way is to take Bus #A21 to Hung Hom Station to take the train but with luggages I think it is easier to have less up and down on bus/train. Anyway, here is the citybus information:

If you were to stay in Hong Kong to play for a day or two then to Guangzhou, take MTR to Hung Hom Station.

You need to get off Guangzhou East Station. Then take a taxi. It is pretty close to the university.

 

Advise everyone stopping in Hong Kong to buy an octopus card at the airport. This card is used for all Hong Kong public transportation (bus, MTR). It is a smart card. If you still have money left in the card at the end, you can get a refund at the airport as you leave. Otherwise, it is tidious to get changes for buses and MTR.
