Our competition has ended on October 15, 2001, and we have our
winners!
See the winning entries here.
A very special thanks to Susan
Stevenson for organizing this event, our first Christmas card
competition!
Competition Guidelines:
- Make one original Christmas card, using primarily pressed plant
material. (Cut-outs and other enhancements are allowed, as long as the
major component of the design is pressed flowers or other plant
material.)
- Do not sign your card: all entries will be assigned a number, so that
participants may remain anonymous during the judging.
- Words on the card are optional.
- Please do not include an envelope with your card.
- Cards may be of any size and shape, as long as they will fit into a
6" x 9" envelope.
- Your original Christmas card may be protected by any method of your
choosing (lamination, acetate, etc.). Protection is optional. The Guild
will not be responsible for any damage to an entry.
- Mail your original Christmas card in a 6"x 9" envelope, to
the competition hostess:
Susan Stevenson
34 Robertson Rd.
Travelers Rest, SC 29690
- All entries must be received by Susan on or before December 7th.
Participants are responsible for mailing their entries early enough to
reach Susan by this date. Any entries reaching Susan after December 7th
cannot be included in the competition, and will be returned.
- With your card, mail a signed statement giving the WWPFG
permission to display your card on the Guild's web site.
- If you wish to have your original card returned to you after the
judging, please include $3 for the return postage and envelope.
- All entries will be scanned by Susan, assigned a number to ensure
anonymity during the judging, and posted on the Guild's yahoo! list
site, in the Files section, when the judging takes place.
- All Guild members (excluding Susan) will vote for the cards of their
choice for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. (Voting will take place between
Dec. 9 - Dec. 14) The three winners will be announced after the votes
have been counted on Dec. 15th, and each will receive an award
certificate. All the cards will become part of the Guild's Gallery
archives, on the WWPFG Web site.
Please notify Susan if you plan
to enter this Christmas card competition. All skill levels are encouraged to
participate. Challenge yourself creatively (it's a great way to learn and to
improve your abilities with pressed flowers!), try something new or
tried-and-true, but please do join us for this "grand opening" of
the WWPFG! |
