Executive Committee Biography

 Members Director

I have joined WWPFG , just over 2 years ago. Even though that seems like a short time, it is not . For in that time, I have grown to know you as my extended family!

I love nature , long walks in the woods has always been my Mall. Vines for wreaths, sometimes flowers or herbs. I was raised in the country all over the US . I have always loved to co-exist with nature , as a child I picked four-leaf clovers and put them in books at the library to give others the luck of finding them!

Born in Indiana, Now for 30 + years , I live have lived in North Carolina . I’m a Mom , have 3 sons, one at home, one married: in the Army with new twin boys and the oldest is in Tenn.
Gardening and Crafting is nothing new to me it has been my life’s passion. I have worked teaching about Nature and recycling in the past with schools, churches , assisted living home, and even my son’s Boy Scout Troop.

I love working with wood , flowers, many other mediums! I Have a great camera and I love to take pictures of nature, so with pressing I have more ways to Preserve Nature!

I have a dear friend Rebekah Smith, who first started /addicted Me to pressing flowers several years ago , now I can't imagine Not doing it! Building Presses, to press in mass amounts . It was not just a hobby even at the very beginning. I found myself excited and involved; Checking the web , reading books about the Art of Pressed Flowers , and natural materials; experimenting with different techniques and media.

I am still in the beginning stage. I have made a few pictures but mostly bookmarks , cards , and rocks with flowers on them , (something Rebekah got me started on.) the classes here at the guild has truly helped me grow , as the great communication we have on line.

I am hoping as a new member of the Executive Committee I can help others learn how to preserve flowers and nature ! Maybe even make some new friends along the way.
Thanks for reading, Terica
